"Chefsache ESC": These guest judges support Stefan Raab in the final
On March 1st, it will be decided who will represent Germany at this year's ESC. Conchita Wurst is one of the jury members.
One more show and it will be decided who will represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel. There are still nine acts in the running in the final of "Chefsache ESC 2025 - Wer singt für Deutschland?". Next Saturday (March 1st) they will perform live on Das Erste for the last time at 8:15 p.m. The show will once again be hosted by Barbara Schöneberger (50).
Elton is absent due to "a private appointment"As in previous shows, entertainer Stefan Raab (58) and singer Yvonne Catterfeld (45) will again judge the artists' performances. Presenter Elton (53), previously the third permanent juror, cannot attend the final due to "a private appointment", according to an ARD press release.
Two top musicians will take his place: Nico Santos (32) and Conchita Wurst (36) will take their place on the jury podium. The latter knows the subject very well: The Austrian Wurst alias Tom Neuwirth was already able to win the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with "Rise Like a Phoenix".
How Germany's ESC candidate is determinedThe four-member jury will be tasked with selecting five of the nine remaining acts to go through to the next round. Moss Kena, Julika, Benjamin Braatz, Cosby, Abor & Tynna, Feuerschwanz, Leonaroa, Lyza and The Great Leslie will each present a cover song and the title they want to perform in Basel.
In the last round, the audience will decide who will actually represent Germany by phone, SMS or online vote. The grand finale of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 17th.
